“Dont Spill The Tea”

This started as a dirty pour, but I saw something more. Two girls chatting. What are they chatting about? Tea seemed like a classy addition, and I really like fine China. It wasn’t until midway through adding the tea that I made the connection. It’s the “Tea” or Gossip, that can keep the conversation going at times. The drama of our lives that slips through our tongue, once it’s spilled it can never go back in the pot. Words can build up or they can tear down. There is a very fine, microscopic line between gossip and venting.

Like Moira Rose once said “Gossip is the devils telephone, best to just hang up!”

The woman with the pot seems calm and collected while the one with the cup appears to be a bit more activated. Is she the one spilling the tea? Or could she be aggressively moving her cup out of the way to show her disinterest for what’s being poured?

There are three sides to every story. Your side, their side, and the truth.

At some point, we’ve all overshared, or said something we know we shouldn’t have. But when in doubt, don’t spill the tea! Move your cup out of the way as quickly as you can.

Quality Control and attention to detail is key to excellent craftsmanship. I print everything at home in my little studio space for this very reason. I want the colors to match as closely to the original as possible, unless it’s an intentional shift which I sometimes do as well. I tweak the settings until it’s just right.

If / when someone says No one will notice, Or who cares? Well that’s easy. I will notice and I care. This can apply in all areas of work and life. I believe If I’m gonna do something, I want to stay true to what feels right regardless of what others might say or notice.

Hello Hello! I'm Andi and I like to keep busy through creative expression. Although I took the art and design college route, it is much more to me than a career choice. Art opens doors to our inner world, it puts a smile on someones face, it makes a bad day good and a good day better. It can change depending on the person looking at it. Art is what makes life worth living, and comes in so many forms. Somedays, being an artist can feel like a heavy burden, and others it can feel like a ticket to freedom.

Honestly, what can't art do!?

I have many different processes, mediums and styles. Sometimes I let the pen tell the story, sometimes I have a theme in mind. Sometimes I feel like I have to just pick one style and stick with it. But the truth is, I don't have to do anything. That is the beauty of art. The artist can make nothing out of something. The artist can make the rules, the artist can take a risk, or the artist can play it safe. I for one would like to stop playing it safe and take some risks.
